Milani Bikes Now At Wiggle

Milani bikes are one of Italy’s best kept secrets. With the origins of the brand dating back as far as the 1920s, there’s no denying its pedigree and heritage. Former racer Natale Milani fuelled his passion for cycling by making high quality, hand-built racing frames in Gallarate, 35km north of Milan. They soon gained legendary status among Italian frame builders.

After his death in the 1990s, the company became dormant and various Far Eastern companies offered to buy the name. Natale’s son, Celeste, was determined to keep the heart and soul of his father’s business alive and relaunched the brand. Today, the exclusive bikes bearing his father’s name retain many of the same features. They are still built in Gallarate with the meticulous attention to detail and high standards of craftsmanship with which his father founded the business. While tradition is important, so too is evolution and the continuous development of technology to ensure those riding Milani enjoy cycling at its best.

Here at Wiggle we are proud to be stocking steel and carbon Milani road bikes as well as the Via Tortona 2010 Single Speed and the Seigiorni Track Bike 2010

Road bikes include:

Milani SL227 Full Carbon 2010

Titus Bikes Now At Wiggle

Titus – now available at Wiggle

As one of the leading titanium frame companies in the world, Titus know a thing or two about designing and creating frames which are light, strong and fast. Their mountain bike frames – whether cross country, all mountain or trail – consist of some seriously special ingredients. Technology, innovation and creativity thrive at Titus and the results are clear from your very first ride.

Made in the US at Titus HQ in Tempe, Arizona, frames are manufactured using aerospace titanium, carbon fibre and aluminium. Couple this with the use of an exclusive and patented fusing process called Exogrid and Isogrid and it is little wonder Titus products provide the highest level of performance together with a truly unique frame design. The guys at Titus really understand what makes bikes great and share a passion for cycling which matches yours.

Here at Wiggle, we’re proud to be stocking a wide range of Titus frames including:

Cross Country X – nimble and quick, the Cross Country X is available in aluminium, carbon and Ti versions.

El Guapo – Climb easier and descend faster with the ultra-versatile El Guapo. Lighter than most dedicated big-drop, big-hit bikes, the Guapo offers a far plusher ride than the fast-twitch behaviour of some XC oriented bikes.

FTM – the new full carbon frame blends a forgiving chassis design with good geometry and an impressive spec

With all Titus bikes, one thing shines through: an attention to detail without compromise.

Turner Bikes At Wiggle

Turner Bicycles founder David Turner has been at the forefront of MTB suspension since the technology’s inception in the 1980s. As a professional racer, he helped designers race-test and fine tune early advancements in suspension design. Later, as a retired racer knowing how a full-suspension mountain bike should ride, Turner looked to the industry but could not find any viable solution.

The result? Turner Suspension Bicycles was born. Prototypes soon found their way under top pros and into magazine spy shots. In 1994 Turner entered the bicycle market with high-performance frames bearing his own name.

The American-made frames quickly earned a winning reputation by delivering levels of performance, pedaling efficiency and reliability few riders had ever experienced. Numerous NORBA, World Cup and UCI Championships have been won on Turner frames, relabeled by other bike companies to be ridden by their professional riders. Turner Bikes became a dominate force in the shadows of the industry for years to come.
Here at Wiggle we are stocking a range of Turner Bikes including two of the true classics:

Turner 5.Spot Full Suspension Frame

Turner revolutionised the trail bike class in 2003 and now their newest trail bike continues to be the leader with world class Turner geometry and unparalleled quality.

Riders can experience the incredible efficiency of dw-link rear suspension combined with Turner’s superior chassis integrity and award-winning handling. Descending with the newest 5.Spot will give you the confidence to conquer almost any terrain with active braking and a perfectly engineered linkage ratio in the 140mm trail bike class.

Turner Flux Full Suspension Frame

The Flux is a 105mm travel cross country frame carrying the great tradition of Turner handling, uncompromised quality and now dw-link efficiency. The bar has been raised with cross county specific pivot and frame design. All of the dw-link locations have been optimized resulting in snappy acceleration with uninhibited suspension travel.

A bike of this calibre has the perfect combination of ergonomic fit and suspension geometry that will inspire you to make this bike fly! The Flux’s uncompromising design makes this bike perfect for hammering out epic adventures or breathing your lungs out on the race course.

Turner Bikes is not just an image: these bikes are built to perform.

Kilmeston First look Road.cc

Verenti Kilmeston

Mat Brett road.cc- Posted on 25 May 2010

Verenti’s entry-level alloy Kilmeston is the latest new bike to arrive at the road.cc command centre and it looks exceptional value for money. We’ve got a crack squad of top international testers putting it through its paces on Britain’s roads even as we speak… er, type.

As you’ll know if you’ve been paying attention, Verenti is the new in-house range from website supremos Wiggle, and the £900 Kilmerston is the entry level model in the line up (check out our review of the £1,400 Rhigos 03 here). On paper, it looks like stunning value…

Kilmeston, plenty of spacers for a comfortable ride

The frame is triple-butted 7005 aluminium alloy – the walls at the ends of each of the main tubes are different thicknesses from one another and from the centre section to keep the weight down and provide the best dimensions for welding – and it comes in a sportive-friendly geometry. That means you get an extended head tube and a top tube that’s a touch shorter than normal, so you’re not bent double in the saddle. We’re not talking ‘sit-up-and-beg”, but with a big stack of headset spacers underneath the stem you’re not going to end up with backache here.

Designed for year-round use, the Kilmeston – it’s named after a village in Hampshire, fact fans – comes with mudguards fitted and there’s enough clearance for slinging 25mm tyres on over the winter. You get mounts for a rear rack too if you want to set it up for commuting.

Mounts for guards / racks

SRAM Rival mechs and DoubleTap Controls are exceptional value at this price – amazing stuff for the money – and as with all the bikes in the Verenti range, you get compact gearing to keep you spinning up the climbs at the end of a long, hard day in the saddle. In this case it’s a Truvativ Elita 50/34 chainset matched up with a SRAM 12-27T cassette.

Sram Rival Groupset

Nearly all the other components, including the carbon-bladed fork, are Verenti’s own. They might not have the glamour or prestige of big-name options, but if our experience of the Verenti Rhigos 03 is anything to go by, it’ll prove to be sound, functional kit, and little touches like gel padding under the bar tape can make all the difference. Even the wheels come from Verenti’s Me range… well, they’re handbuilt for Verenti by Pro-Lite. With 35mm semi-deep rims, we’ll be interested to find out how they handle.

Verenti Wheel Set

We’ll be back with a full report on the ride soon.

Le Col Now At Wiggle!

Le Col Available Now!

Created by former pro cyclist Yanto Barker, Le Col clothing is cycling apparel for the discerning rider. With its intricately stitched logos and gold zips, clean lines and sleek cut, there’s no denying this is stylish clothing for cyclists who want to look and feel good while riding.

After more than 12 years as a pro cyclist, Barker says he rarely came across clothing which balanced comfort, function and style. For this reason, he set about developing his own range of technical clothing which blends all three without compromise. The race-bred cut and quality feel to each garment ensures practicality while the close attention to style and finest modern fabrics guarantee a sharp, classic look. While designing these garments, Barker says he was influenced by ideas from non-specific sport clothing and contemporary fashion. The result is an exclusive, top-end designer look. If you appreciate true quality, believe it can be done and won’t settle for anything less, Le Col is most definitely for you.

We are proud to be selling a range of Le Col clothing including jerseys, rain capes, gilets and bib shorts. Here are a few of our favourites:

Le Col Soft Shell Rain Cape

This rain cape has been designed for light rain and cold conditions.

Thin material enables it to fold up into its own back pocket to the size of a fist making it easy to carry in emergencies, while being thermal it also has a mesh panel down the sides and along the underarm to aid temperature regulation, a high fleece lined neck also stops wind and rain.

With a distinctive material gold seams and gold high visibility strips this is a versatile and unique garment for harsh conditions.

Le Col Lycra Bib Shorts

Contemporary styled bibshorts designed for maximum comfort and form using the most up to date technology and mordern fabrics.

Bib shorts are likely to be the most often worn item in anyone’s clothing collection and can deliver the most discomfort if poor quality. For this reason it is important they are ultimately comfortable, in that you barely realise you have them on!

Cycling will make you suffer enough with out your shorts rubbing. Le Col have hand chosen the chamoix to deliver unrivalled comfort hour after hour, rain sleet or snow.

No expense has been spared on our final product. With a style to match the rest of the range and comfortable bibs that allow for nature breaks, Le Col are proud of this product.

Le Col Short Sleeve Jersey

With minimal branding, a slick cut and a recognisable stitching we are pleased to exhibit this fine jersey as the Le Col flagship garment.

We wanted to create a Le Col flag ship jersey – something smooth and aerodynamic, in character as much as form, a jersey that would cut through the air with minimal effort, look classy and feel like quality, a jersey that would give the wearer a sense of pride and comfort on rides from 1 hour to 6 hours regardless of ability.
A jersey that embodies hundreds of thousands of hard and easy miles of experience, a jersey that will work technically and look sharp at all times for every wearer.

The material is a medium weight sport/wool that holds its shape, washes brilliantly and is equally as strong as fully synthetic jerseys while maintaining the tactile quality of wool.

The understated design casts a shadow over garish cycling jerseys. The ergonomic fabric cut follows your body perfectly, to minimize wind resistance while allowing for ease of cycling motion.
