Evoc – now available @ Wiggle

Here @ Wiggle we are stocking a wide range of Evoc products, including:

  • Evoc Bike TravelbagBike travel bag for trips by plane, car, train or boat – 100% protection for your bike. The bike can be stored ready-to-go within mere minutes.
Only the handlebar, the pedals and the wheels need to be removed. A clever belt system on the inside keeps all the parts firmly in place and the fat padding and the rubber reinforcements protect fragile components such as the groupset, the fork and the dropout.

The specially reinforced side pockets for the wheels even offer enough roo

m for hefty 2.5 downhill tyres and they also provide more stability to the bag as a whole. The extra-wide tread provides stability and smoothly running wheels and loads of convenient handles make the EVOC Bike Travelbag very comfortable to transport.

  • Evoc CC 16 litre Backpack – The EVOC CC‘s motto is: “less is more”. It is designed for when you only want to carry absolute necessities.

The CC has space for keys, raincoat, spare jersey, repair kit, tool kit, a few energy bars and a hydration system. It features a slim-cut main compartment with access, fixture and outlet for the hydration system, a convenient lid pocket with a key clip, a vertical exterior compartment and two elastic, easy-to-reach side pockets.

A special feature is the roll-out, elastic helmet flap which can be clipped easily to the backpack via 4 loops and which is suitable for touring helmets as well as full-face helmets. The separate pocket is ventilated by means of a mesh, so the flap can dry even when it is rolled-in and stored.
The entire carrying system has a brand new concept which has been optimized with regard to weight and ventilation.

The load is borne by the comfortable pads of the broad hip strap and distributed evenly on the back via 8 micro-ventilated pads. A system of ventilation channels and orifices in the shoulder straps dissipate the trapped heat to the top, bottom and the sides and hereby creates the ideal air circulation (EVOC Air Circulation Sytem)

Evoc Terminal Bag – Versatile travel trolley as additional luggage item or for short trips or city trips.

It features a detachable day backpack and it has the standard airport measurements, extra compartments for your notebook, passport and boarding pass. The entire Terminal bag can also be carried as a backpack with the hidden shoulder straps

Focus Culebro Tria – 9/10 in 220 Triathlon

    Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

    220-culebro-tria.jpg
If you are in the market for a new Triathlon bike, have a look at the latest issue 220 Triathlon, who reviewed the
Focus Culebro Tria, and scoring it 9/10. They were impressed with the entire bike and especially the frame…

“From the teardrop-shaped down tube… to the round-to-triangular rear forks, there’s enough tapering to match the pillars of Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia”

“All in all, a triumph of a bike, it performs excellently and, at this price, it’s great value.”

It’s also worth noting what they say about the service they received from Wiggle…

“With a bike that’s fully built from the box and with the stem already facing forwards, all you have to do is hold the bars in place and turn the Allen Key to get things started. The tyres even have 100psi in them and just need topping up before you ride.”

    And the praise continues with…

“The Focus is only available through one online distributor. So you’d expect it to arrive ‘good-to-go’ and. As anticipated, it does”

The Culebro Tria is a superb bike that is prefectly suited for triathletes who want a tri specific bike to get most out of their cycling. Check out the full details of the Tria now!

DZ Nuts Official Chamois Cream Of Team Columbia Highroad

Here’s some great news just released about DZ Nuts chamois cream..

“DZ Nuts is now the official chamois cream of Team Columbia Highroad. It just shows how good this product is that amongst all the other sponsors products out there they have chosen to use it above anything else.

For those not familiar with the product it contains lots of natural ingredients like Tea Tree oil and Evodia. But what is most important is the list of things it won’t ever use. Let’s face it when you are putting a crème in that area you want it to sooth and not cause any damage, and with the ingredients selected you should have hours of comfort in the saddle.

So follow in the wheels of Big George and Little Mark and use DZ Nuts.”

    Satmap releases software update

Active 10 from Satmap, the handlebar-mountable GPS unit with OS mapping via SD cards can be hooked up to a computer to get some great new features!

Satmap has added some new features and functions to its Active 10 GPS unit. All you need to do is connect the unit via USB to your computer to download the update.

The software update can be found at Satmaps site Click here

The updated software makes the Active 10 more intuitive, and the new version ensures the unit is optimised for European mapping which will launch later on this year.

    SatMap MD Richard Calthrop-Owen, said:

“We have listened to feedback from the general user as well as a number of mountain rescue teams and military personnel, all of whom have put the Active 10 through some rigorous testing.

“There have been some great suggestions for new features and changes and we’ve also had some ideas of our own too. We are confident these changes will enhance the user experience as well as improving their enjoyment of the great outdoors.”

The Active 10 software version 1.3 features European Datum, now including support for international mapping. There are also changes to data measurement: total ascent, total descent, maximum and minimum elevation have been also been added.

    Wiggle exclusive products score big

    Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

    wmtb-mbuk-reviews-copy.jpg
You may have noticed that the Wiggle exclusive brands have been filling up the pages of the British cycle press, resulting in some excellent reviews.

    Firstly the new Focus 2009 MTB hardtails have been put through their paces by MBUK and WhatMTB. The Focus Fat Boy was well received by the guys at WhatMTB, loving the steep angles and the stability it carries at full throttle;

“The Fat Boy has a confident but sprightly feel. Fast tyres mean better acceleration and climbing than similar bikes we’ve tested. Despite gaining a pound in weight since last year’s model, the Focus is still among the lightest in its category. A low bottom bracket needs care when pedalling through bumpy terrain, but means more stability at speed. We really like its steepish angles, which sit you slightly forward, in an ideal position to really use the fork in rough terrain.”

While WhatMTB were impressed with the Fat Boy, MBUK were raving about the speed demon that is the Focus Black Forest Expert. Excited by its groupset, low weight, fast Alex X0 wheels and powerful Avid Elixir brakes. MBUK concluded with:

“An untamed speed-demon of a cross country bike, that’s superbly equipped and far lighter than most of its price rivals. It’s a fantastic steed if speed is more important to you than gnarly trail ability…”

But if you are after ‘gnarly trail ability’ it’s a problem which can be easily solved by purchasing a set of ‘mud’ tyres, with the £50 worth of kit that we offer you with every bike purchased over £500. The Focus Black Forest scored an impressive 8/10.
    cw-reviews.jpg
Wiggle are the exclusive UK retailers for road cycling legend Dave Zabriskie’s DZ Nuts chamois cream, and Cycling Weekly we’re thoroughly impressed a gave it a great write up:

“With no problems encountered it’s safe to say DZ Nuts is a great performing cream that will outlast your legs…”

Also Cycling Weekly rated the Lifeline Syn Lube highly with a 9/10 review, commenting on how long it lasted before reapplication, and its offering of low friction and the dampening of drivetrain noise. They concluded by saying:

“At £5.99 this is a fair price for a great product that may not set the world on fire but will keep you happily rolling along for many miles.”

And it doesn’t stop there, the dhb range of luggage received praise, in the same publication, regarding its hard wearing, functional and stylish design. Expect to see the great value dhb Elsted luggage range in the pits at the race circuits this season.
