Gravel on!! I had so much fun riding 'adventure road' bikes last year, I decided I wanted to do “Another Year on Adventure Road”. Two months in, I'm already having such a blast!

This year, I've got a new partner in crime, from one of my favourite bike brands, Kona.

There is just something about Kona bikes; they're so cool. When I was growing up, if you had a Kona you were the boy; and I personally think that reputation is stronger than ever right now.

Kona got into the adventure road game early; and so now, four years on, they've really got the Kona Rove ST (2016) dialled. It still follows the same basic pattern as the original; but the overall package has been properly refined. With super clean lines, the SRAM Rival 1 groupset; and that paint, oh that paint. This is one classy looking gravel grinder.

Beyond looking straight up awesome, the best thing about the Kona Rove ST (2016) is it will take you literally anywhere you want to go.

You can just go for a blast, and make it up as you go along. You might head out to put in some serious road miles; and end up hacking round your local woods, just because you rode past and fancied it. There is literally nowhere you can't go on this thing.

So is it a road bike or an off road bike? Is it a commuter? A touring bike? It is all of them; rolled into one.

If you're obsessed with all-out performance, in one specific discipline, you might see it as a compromise; but for me, the Kona Rove is just one of those bikes you can go out on, and know you're going to have a smile on your face, wherever you end up.
