Reconnect Through Run

Almost one-and-a-half thousand runners took to the roads, trails, and pathways of the UK over the bank holiday weekend to Reconnect Through Run.

The event was jointly organised by Wiggle and the UK's largest run club Lonely Goat, inviting participants to reconnect with friends and family over a 10k distance.

The event came as lockdown restrictions continued to lift throughout the country, providing the perfect opportunity to spend time with those we've missed during a difficult year for many.

"Absolutely lovely morning," posted Lonely Goat member Victoria Lawrence, who added: "Thanks for the #reconnectthroughrun 10k. We had a super catch up followed by scones!"

Posting about her run, participant Kathrine Simpson said: "A very big thank you to those of you who encouraged me to 'have a go' at #reconnectthroughrun. My longest run yet and first 10k."

Added encouragement for those taking part came in the form of an attractive medal designed by the team at Wiggle who also covered its cost. There were also three £100 vouchers handed out to those posting about their participation using the hashtag #ReconnectThroughRun on social media.

Here are just some of those who took part:
